I have been struggling with the game of golf for years. My handicap before ordering the 'Simple Golf Swing' program was at 29 and I usually shoot in the high 90's. I usually play around twice a month and get to practice once a week if I'm lucky and I have been playing for around 7 years. I decided that I needed to get better and so went ahead and ordered the program hoping that things would finally improve.
I really liked the picture illustrations and videos as they made things a lot simpler. I found the swing method to be very simple to understand and it also made good sense however I did have to practice it a few times on the range as was suggested in the guide before going out on the course. I spent around 4 practice sessions on the range working on the drills shown in the videos so I could get more comfortable with the method. Around the end of the third practice session I could tell my ball striking was really getting better and felt that I am ready to test the new swing on the course.
My first round on the course using the new swing method was a 92 which was not a huge improvement but was certainly better than the 98 I shot in the round I played before I purchased this system. I kept practicing the method on the range because I honestly noticed a positive difference and greater confidence in my ball striking. The next week I went out to play again and the first nine I shot 45 but missed a ton of putts and made some very poor chip shots around the green.
However the second nine saw me hitting 7 out of 9 fairways and I hit 5 greens in regulation and shot a 41. My score of 86 on that day was my best round in a long time and ball striking using the Simple Golf method had a lot to do with it. The Simple Golf Swing program will probably be useful for most high handicap players looking for a simpler way to play the game and shoot lower scores without having to spend too much time practicing. I have recently started using the course “how to break 80” and it has drastically changed my game. It has made me a much better player and manager of the game of golf. I want to share with you some training tips and techniques straight from the course.
Your golf swing starts out and depends on your alignment, this is why my first three tips to share are dealing with alignment.
1. First check your feet. Line up to a target and take your stance. When you believe that you are all square to hit, take your club and lay it down pointing at the target where it is touching the tips of both of your feet. Stand back and look down the target line, see if the club is pointing to the target you were aiming at. If it is not, fix your feet accordingly.
2. My second tip for alignment is to fix your body. At address your hips and shoulders should be pointing at the target also. Have a friend or fellow golfer stand behind you with a Camera. Stand at address and hold your club across your shoulders. Take a picture. Repeat with your hips. Go back and look at both pictures and see if the clubs are pointing to your target. If the both are not then fix your body accordingly.
3. Finally we need to make sure your club face is pointing towards your target. Now this may vary depending on a person’s swing but the concept applies to all golfers. Set your ball down and stand behind it. Now visualize where you want your ball to go. Place a tee about 4 to 6 inches in front of the ball down the target line. When you are making your swing, make sure you follow through directly at the tee.
Next I want to share with you some of the tips that have helped me really improve my driving skills. Without these skills I would hit a lot less fairways which would in turn hurt my golf game. Here are two of the best most useful tips that I have found from this course.
2. Our next fix will help your turn in your body. I want you to set up to the ball
and put both of your feet together. You will need to position the ball just in front of your forward foot (Right hander’s being their left foot, Left hander’s being their right foot). Start slow with this one it challenges your balance. Take a full swing and make solid contact. This drill will not only help your flight path but it will help you with balance, ball striking, and distance!
3. My final tip for the Drive is the best one in my arsenal. This is what I have to do
every time I start to spray my driver all over the course. It is also the most simple of
my tips to start using. This technique is shortening your backswing. When your on the
range next time line up to the ball and take a slow and steady backswing ( do not over
exaggerate the slow part) and then swing through the ball with full force. This drill will
train your body to swing through the ball and not slow down.
These few tips have been helped drastically improve my golf game. They are all snippets from what I learned in the How To Break 80 Course. Give them a chance to improve your game also!
